Vaisala Road Condition 3.1

Vaisala RoadDSS Road Condition offers weather and surface observations from Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) connected to the Vaisala RoadDSS Data Service.

Users can benefit from:

• Atmospheric and Surface observations from Road Weather Stations (RWS) displayed on a GIS-based map
• Color-coded RWIS locations on the map indicating surface conditions or temperatures
• Camera images from Road Weather Stations
• Weather reports from airports (METARs)
• Historical graphs showing air temperatures, dew point temperatures, and surface temperatures for the previous 24 hours at all RWIS locations
• Lightning proximity to Road Weather Stations using Vaisala's North American Lightning Detection Network (NALDN) and Vaisala's Global Lightning Dataset (GLD360)
• Weather Radar data and animations
• Display of a user's current location on the map
• Drive Mode for automatic map panning centered on the user's location
• Push notifications about winter surface conditions
• Data filtering based on selected criteria
• Weather Outlook forecasts indicating high and low forecasted air temperatures and a weather summary icon for the next three days at each RWIS and METAR location
• On-demand data refresh

The application functions in conjunction with the Vaisala RoadDSS Data Service.
